5415. the first letter is written in very lite blue ink and then second letter is written in dark ink and is easier to read. the two letters are bound/tied  together with original string. the gist of the two letters is--first letter written to Hon John Quinn to help get a young musician enlisted in the army band but his age is a factor. the Army needs his guardian to o.k. the enlistment. the second letter is the answer to the first. the first letter written in lite blue ink on the letter head of  Fort Columbus NY Harbor is in good used condition and has been folded. the second letter written in dark ink with the letter head of- War Department Office of the Adjutant General is in good used condition and has been folded. both letters show some lite  normal ware. i am not sure of the first letters original signature. thank you for looking and please see all my listings of the John Quinn collection of historical political paper items in my store and at auction.
