Description
Early 20th century campaign sign that reads, “State Representative Beers, Republican.”  Believed to be for Edward M. Beers (1877-1932) who was first elected to the Sixty-eighth Congress on the Republican ticket in 1922 serving until his death in 1932.  Representing the 18th District which included Franklin, Fulton, Huntingdon, Juniata, Mifflin, Perry, Snyder and Union counties in Pennsylvania.  He served on the War Claims and Invalid Pensions, District of Columbia, Printing Committees.  Nice condition, shows some light aging to board, corners/edges rubbed/bumped, bottom left corner has light creases.  Sign and Pictorial Painters Union Local 820 logo, measures 27 3/4 x 5 1/2 inches.
